Sites which have been earmarked on the basis of soil, aspect and microclime, are managed by the Mt Difficulty viticultural team and most dedicated growers, to yield the South Island's finest vintages of Pinot Gris. Selection of fruit is subject to strict criteria, parcels must be exclusively sourced from Bannockburn vineyards, on the south side of Kawarau River in the southern Cromwell basin. Fashioned to an off dry styling, followed by four months on gross yeast lees with weekly stirring to enhance complexity and texture.

Mt Difficulty are sourced from resplendent sites at Bannockburn, south of the Kawarau River, under the close scrutiny of a highly accomplished viticultural team. An assemblage of fruit from a number of estate vineyards, Long Gully and Templars Hill, Ferris and Bannockburn Bay, Swansong and Pipeclay Terrace. A stunning nose of white peach, blossoms and bosc pear, luscious fruits to the palate, creamy and full of more ish flavour, gossamer textured and defined. Enriched by lees texture, reined in by lithe acid tang, a rich, minerally, stone fruit driven finish.

The opulence of oak barrel vinifications, a firm press of the ferments, lees stirring and extended term of age, Marli Russell is as voluptuous as you'll find Marsanne Roussanne. A bouquet that bursts from the glass, beautiful lychee perfumes, white peaches, pears and fresh lime, a more ish honeydew sweetness, exceptional drive by virtue of such juicy acidity and judicious phenolic texture. Offering layers of complexity and marvelous length, the intensity builds along the entire palate, long after Ms Marli has played and departed.

The Mount Langi property was recognized as ideal for the production of full bodied wines over a century ago. Planted to white wine grapes in the 1990s, it is now home to some of the most eloquent examples of Pinot Gris in Australia. A soundly structured wine of juicy bonbon flavours and fragrantly spiced florals, supported by a supple hint of oak. Mount Langi vineyard's spectacular aspects form a unique amphitheatre, where the cool Grampian climes ripen Pinot Gris grapes fully, to achieve optimal fruit characters and exemplary varietal complexity.

Pinot Gris vines were first planted at Mount Langi in the early 1990s. With altitudes and climes not dissimilar to the grape's original home in Alsace along the Valley Rhine, Grampians grown Pinot Gris is brimming with the baked pear and cool ripened lychee characters, kernel aromaticness and textural richness which make white Pinot wines so charming and persuasive. A match to bitey cheese and the freshest seafood, Mount Langi drinks magnificently alongside pork with apple dressing.

Moondah Brook is a contemporary range of varietal wines sourced from premium Western Australian vineyards. Patience and dedication, hard work and an ongoing commitment to sustainable viticulture, have all contributed to the development of the finest Chenin Blanc vineyards in the west. A splendid example of how Chenin Blanc has taken to the salubrious mesoclimes of West Australia, fashioned to the traditionally complex and dry, fruit filled, food friendly style.

The very wine which defines the greater Nagambie Lakes district as a region that's so opportune for the the fleshy white styles of Cotes du Rhône. Marsanne was an early pioneer of Goulburn Valley viticulture, it has found a home away from home in the Victorian midlands, evolving into a refreshing, yet engagingly complex genre of table white that goes astonishingly well with fine food. Its radiant goldish hues presage a blossoming bouquet of peaches and white floral, a textured, mineral palate of juicy savouryness, almonds and nougat, before a refined, delicate finish.

Half Marsanne, the balance of Rousanne and Viognier, sourced exclusively from the Mitchelton estate vineyard. Airstrip is a lively but tight blend of vigorous white fruit. Modest crop levels ranging from 2 to 3½ tonnes per acre give this wine its core intensity. Each individual block is managed and vinified separately to allow the different qualities of each variety, shaped by the unique vineyard site and soil profiles, to shine through. The individual parcels of fruit are moulded together during blending to produce the unique Airstrip style.

From a superior site, identified for its magnificent Pinot Gris mesoclimes, a propitious place of optimal sunlight exposure, refreshed by cooling summer sea breezes. Pinot Gris grown here develop intense varietal flavours of great vigor and vitality on the palate. Grapes are lightly pressed at vinified at lower temperatures to capture and preserve the urgency of fruit, followed by a term on sedimentery lees for exquisite textural richness and complexity. Perfumed pear, fruits of the orchard and tropical characters, a finely structured style and a long, clean, off dry finish.

Marc Brédif can count on the finest harvests in Vouvray, twenty acres of the best vineyards, a canon of salubrious south facing vines, planted to unique chalk and silica clay soils known as Aubius. Many have been supplying Brédif for generations and are the source of Loire Valley's most memorable vintages. The great vineyards of Tarbourneau, Clos Chavin and Mailet yield a superior quality Chenin Blanc. The pick of the crop is the eminent Les Vignes Blanches, one of the most celebrated vineyards in all Valley Loire.

Marc Brédif was established in the 1890s but the Domaine can boast a history which dates back to 1550. Ancient troglodyte cellars, which contain local wines over a hundred years of age, were carved into the underlying chalk during the tenth century, among the finest and most extensive Chais in Valley Loire. Marc Brédif make the finest and most ageworthy Vouvray Chenin Blanc, wines which drink magnificently on release, they develop lovely white fruit rancio characters as they mature, honeyed complexities, nuttyness and fig.

Based in Rochecorbon on the banks of River Loire, at the heart of the Vouvray region, Marc Brédif is one of the most respected labels in France, the largest in Vouvray. Founder Marc Brédif was a winemaking pioneer and innovator, his estate cellars on the Quai de la Loire are carved deep into the chalk countryside, they still hold stocks over a century of age. A region that's synonymous with Chenin Blanc, the freshness and vitality of Loire Valley wines are made even more engaging by the distinctive food friendly styles of Vouvray.

Marc Bredif are renowned by Loire Valley enthusiasts the world over, they make the most exquisite Chenin Blanc wines from fruit grown to twenty acres of retainer vineyards, planted on the first slopes above the river in Vouvray and Vernou-Sur-Brenne. The wines of Marc Bredif are also famous for their capacity to age gracefully and develop wonderful complexity. The estate's ancient chalk cellars on the Quai de la Loire hold stocks of Marc Brédif Chenin Blanc which are over a hundred years of age.

Brian Bicknell had been making wine around the world for many years. He returned to Marlborough on a mission to isolate vineyards of unique and individual expression, to construct a range of wines which can articulate the wealth of terroir and microclime clime to be found across greater Marlborough. The rose tinged Pinot Gris grape holds a fair amount of tannin, Mahi endeavour to minimize skin contact for a gentler palate. Being a fruit of low acidity, Mahi ferment the juices right through to dryness in a measure of oak, building structure while preserving eloquence.

Sourced from low yielding sites which are managed to yield an exceptional quality of Pinot Gris. Slow ripening mesoclimes and a wonderful level of flavour development, extensive leaf plucking and crop thinning, produce a wine with great complexity and a lovely texture that can only be realized from harvests of the most concentrated fruit, subtle oak treatments, a judicious amount of malolactic influence and extravagant lees stirring regimens.

Act Three of the exciting new opus from De Bortoli, a mostly Pinot Gris wine, predominantly from Wombat Creek Vineyard at Gladysdale in the Upper Yarra, vinified alongside a judicious measure of complimenting white varietals, to form a whole that's so much greater than the sum of parts. Judicious inclusions of Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc, for a measure of interest. Kumeu River was a pioneer of the New Zealand winemaking industry, established in 1944 when the Brajkovich family settled at Kumeu just outside of Auckland. The estate makes some of New Zealand's finest Chardonnay and is equally adept at some of the more esoteric varietals. All their offerings have shown well at competitions and they excel at Pinot Gris. The estate's Auckland vineyards enjoy beautiful ripening conditions, encouraging the fruit to achieve a level of rich concentration and luscious textures, a very layered and complex Pinot Gris wine.

An attractively perfumed alternative, Pinot Gris is all about texture and flavour. Characterised by nutty stonefruit characters, medium in body with super balance between fruit sweetness and acidity. Matches well with Asian influenced recipes and will leave a lasting impression. Maestro Crawford never loses a trick, his impressive wines attract show awards like a metal detector. As close to a perfumed palate as one can get without being florid, crunchy pear and honeyed almond flavours persist, viscous and moreish like a peaches & apricot frappé.

A single vineyard Chenin Blanc, sourced entirely from mature vines on the Kalleske farm, wild fermented and partially barrel matured to achieve an articulately varietal yet engagingly complex wine. Florentine gets her name from Caroline Florentine Kalleske, the first daughter of Johann Georg Kalleske who migrated to Australia from Prussia in 1838. Florentine is a true hand crafted wine that's been grown, vintaged and matured on the Kalleske estate farm, near the hamlet of Greenock in northwest Barossa.
